The Climb

The climb is a 2hr adrenaline experience where you and your team mates climb, shimmy, slide and squeeze through tight spaces to reach the SkyView – an open-air viewing platform 72 metres above the river. Once at the top you'll enjoy breathtaking views over the Swan River.

Matagarup Zip + Climb will coordinate 4 climbs up the main arch of the Bridge between 4pm and 6pm, with a maximum of 10 participants per climb. This climb is not for the faint-hearted with the average gradient of the climb at 45 degrees! Prior to climbing, you will undertake a safety induction and be fitted with a full-body harness, helmet and a bridge latch device with a tether to ensure your safety at all times.

The Zip

Descend the bridge down the city side of the main arch to the 35m high launch platform and prepare for an adrenaline rush. Your guide will safely prepare you for launch, before you take off and feel the thrill as you soar through the sky riding the 400m zipline back down at up to 75km/hr. You will be brought in for a safe landing on the eastern banks of the Swan River where your family and friends can gather to watch.

Fundraising

Each participant must raise a minimum of $600 each to climb.

Motor Neurone Disease WA relies on the generous support of fundraisers in the community to continue to provide vital support for people living with MND in Western Australia.

Please note, the minimum fundraising requirement of $600 must be met by Friday 3 March to be eligible to participate in the bridge climb.

Every dollar raised from the event will go towards our specialised care and support services for people living with MND, their carers and families. This includes our MND Advisory Service providing care coordination and emotional support, together with our support groups, equipment, patient transport service and specialised funding. A contribution from all our fundraising efforts also gets donated to the Motor Neurone Disease Research Institute of Australia to support researchers in finding a cause, effective treatment and cure for MND.
