The Motor Neurone Disease Association of WA (previously called the Motor Neurone Society of WA Inc) was founded in 1983 by a small group of volunteers in response to a lack of information, resources and support for people with MND and their families in Western Australia.
The Association has since grown to provide a comprehensive team of staff, a board of management and a large group of volunteers to support people living with Motor Neurone Disease and their families.
MNDAWA is partly funded by the Department of Health but relies heavily on the generosity and goodwill of the community for donations, sponsorship, grants and fundraising to assist us in continuing our vital care and support services.
