Welcome to MNDWA
MNDAWA is an incorporated, not-for-profit organisation. It is a member of the Motor Neurone Disease Association of Australia.
The Mission Statement of The Motor Neurone Disease Association of WA is:
"To be the specialist organisation in Western Australia to encourage and enhance participation in normal life activities of people living with MND, recognising the need for quality of life and personal dignity."
Motor Neurone Disease is a disease causing certain motor nerve cells to initially not work well and then to not work at all. This process can have a profound effect on an individual with a diagnosis of MND and their family and loved ones. The Motor Neurone Disease Association of Western Australia (MNDAWA) provides support, information, and a variety of links to services that can help reduce the impact of a diagnosis of MND.
We provide information about the latest MND research findings from the MND Research Insitute of Australia and other recognised organisations. Every care is taken to reproduce it as accurately as possible. Should you feel it conflicts with any information given or represented elsewhere, we advise you to consult your doctor or neurologist.
The information provided is regularly updated. Latest update: 8 March 2010.
