What is Motor Neurone Disease (MND)? |
|
MND is a group of diseases in which the neurones (nerve cells) controlling the muscles fail to work normally. With no nerves to activate them, the muscles graudally weaken and waste. The senses, memory and intellect usually remain intact.
Other names for MND :

ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis)

What Does MNDAWA Do? |
|
The Motor Neurone Disease Association of Western Australia (MNDAWA) is a registered charity and support organization that works with people living with Motor Neurone Disease, their families, friends and carers throughout WA.
MNDAWA has provided support for people living with MND since 1983. It is a member of the Motor Neurone Disease Association of Australia, and the International Alliance for ALS/MND.
We also support the research efforts seeking to find the cause and cure for MND.

Bicycling WA
Dams Bike Ride Challenge
The Motor Neurone Disease Association of WA has a small team participating in the Bicycling WA Dams Challenge that are riding to raise funds for MNDAWA.

This year for Awareness Week (May 6th - 12th) we are holding a Quiz Night.
Wednesday 9th May, 7pm at East Fremantle Football Club - Main Hall
